About the Artist
Hi, I’m Steve. My interest in art began when I was very young. I started doing sketchings of super heroes I liked such as Spiderman, Batman and Daredevil. As a child, comic books supplied the art I was most exposed to. At about 13 years old, I discovered the artwork of Frank Frazetta and was completely blown away. I was so inspired by the beauty of his paintings that I knew right then that I wanted to try my hand at oil painting.
Frank Frazetta is still one of my most admired artists. Some of my favorite paintings of his are Conan the Destroyer, The Death Dealer and The Egyptian Princess. My interest in oil painting has also been strongly influenced by other greats such as Norman Rockwell, Vincent Van Gogh, John Waterhouse, Andrew Tischler and Lena Danya, just to name a few. There are so many that I admire.
My career as an artist was comprised of periods of constant painting, followed by complete artistic inactivity. But for the last several years, I’ve concentrated all my passion into oil painting and creating the works of art that I love.
